Mr Buckley's is a neighbourhood restaurant and bar situated on Hackney Road.
Named after Mr William Buckley, who attempted to burn down the building on the 18th August, 1883. William Buckley was refused entry to the The United Radical club as it was then called and as a result attempted to set fire to the building whilst 250 people were attending a ball. Fortunately the flames were extinguished and Mr Buckley, arrested and everybody lived to tell the tale!
We serve a seasonally changing menu. High quality, local produce is used to serve an interesting menu that incorporates traditional British and European fusion cooking.
Brunch is served from 10am at the weekends.
Sunday roasts are served all day from midday.
The basement bar is open Friday and Saturdays until 2am, soon to be seven days a week...
Richard Mortimer of Ponystep fame will be playing some marvellous songs for you all from 9pm tonight in our basement bar. Don’t miss it!
